Basic Information

First of all, let me just say that I think that the platypus is an amazing creature and one of the most fascinating things I have ever learned about. The duck-billed platypus, otherwise known as the Ornithorhynchus Anatinus, is a very rare animal because of their mixed and specialized traits. Although, they are not even close to or in danger of extinction, mostly because they are protected by Australian Government.
